VPS architecture has evolved a lot from its humble origins when it was a rudimentary effort at virtual partitioning of a storage device and then hosting servers and configuring servers in that partitioned entity. Nowadays redundancy is a very important concept that is being talked about everywhere. To ensure that data in a data center remains safe and is data is routed to the correct direction, the administrator needs a good administration tool. Plesk is one such tool which is a product of the Parallels Company (formerly SW Soft) is very popular in the web hosting circles.

The Plesk tool is offered in various packages such as Plesk Control Panel, the Plesk server administrator. It is proprietary software. The control panel is used by individual website owners who have subscribed to some space in the web hosting company to manage their portion in the server and to manage the settings and the content being posted in their web site. The VPS service uses Plesk extensively to get the best management and administration of the virtual server. This is known as Plesk VPS.

The Plesk control panel is used for controlling various other features such as to control the Email accounts and the SQL accounts associated with the account. Plesk VPS uses the server administrator tool to manage the entire server portion. It can perform multiple tasks in Plesk VPS such as setting up websites, DNS entries and to predetermine the resource quantum to be allocated with each one of the VPS service subscribers. The Plesk tool is offered for VPS servers with almost any operating system. It caters different versions to FreeBSD, Linux and Windows Os. The panel can be used to manage both open source SQL and Microsoft’s server databases. It is also very good at handling the Apache and Java platform server apart from other server configurations.
